Question:
Dear Rhett:
I need to replace my old cinch. How do I know what size replacement cinch to put on my old saddle.
Ann Briggs

Answer:
Hi Ann:
Well, the easiest thing to do is measure the old one. But I am assuming that you don’t have a cinch on the saddle to measure. The most common size is 32” for a western cinch, this is for the “average” horse size. I have used a piece of string about 3 feet long and made a template to measure from. You may also want to borrow a cinch from a friend and see how it fits. Unfortunately, saddles are all different so you may have to do some trial and error work.
Good luck,
Rhett
